Sending Alerts

When collaborating with a colleague, it is nice to be able to point to a particular location in a project. In arKItect, you can use Send Alert in the Notification Panel of the Tools Category to send an e-mail to any user who has access to the project.

By clicking on the  button, you can select the recipients in a list of arKItect users having access to the current workspace. The default text contains a URL of the current view and project. You should not modify it if you want your recipient users to be able to find the view and the project.

If arKItect has not been configured correctly in the ToolsOptions panel, your fellow user will receive an e-mail from arkitect@-k-inside.com and not from your personal e-mail address. You should thus remember to sign the message.

Copying a Location URL

It is also possible to copy the URL of a current view directly by clicking on the Internal Block Diagram background and choosing Copy Location URL from the context menu. Another option is to use Copy Location URL in the Notification Panel of the Tools Category.

You can now communicate this URL to other users having access to the project. An example of a copied URL can be seen below:

Receiving Alerts

When you receive an alert with a URL beginning with arkitect://, you can use it to open arKItect directly on the project and view pointed by the user. Copy and paste the URL into the Run window of Windows. (You can start the Run window by using the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut.)
