How to Grant Access to a Project

The arKItect user administrator can grant accesses to users. See the Administrator's Guide for more details.

Collaborative Work

Once two or more users have been granted access to a project, they can both begin to work on it. If the users do not work on the same project at the same time, all modifications made by one user will be loaded automatically by other the next time the project is opened. No data is stored locally.

It is also possible to have several users open a project at the same time; in this case, the Select Project window indicates then the number of simultaneously connected online users.

Right-click on the project row where online users are available will yield a menu item Copy users; this maybe useful for sending alerts through e-mail.

Any modifications made by one user will be immediately stored in the project; however, other users will not be aware of the changes unless they explicitly load them by doing a Refresh (Refresh Panel of the Home Category or the F5 shortcut).

There are some simultaneous actions that should be avoided; these actions are listed below. Breaking these rules can, under some circumstances, cancel the user modifications that have put the project into an inconsistent state.

  • Adding an object with the same name and same type
  • Modifying the Internal Block Diagram belonging to the same object
  • Modifying or deleting the same object (i.e. one user renaming it and the other deleting it)
