Tool description

This document is a report of system requirements. It will contain all requirements and needed information we will detail here.

You can choose to export all the system requirements, or filter the export for a component or function.

You can also use this tool to compare your requirements versions.

How to run this tool

To generate this document, you have to go to the process view called "Process". Enterring the object "System Engineering Data Management Process" will show you all systems engineering process main steps.

In this view, there are some additional objects, showing tools around the process. For example, between step 1 and 2, you can find an object called "Requirements and diff Export". Right click on this object and click on "Generate"

Export Requirements to Excel

This will open a graphical interface allowing you to select options for the export.

Export All: generate an Excel that contains all the system requirements

Export Component requirements: Select a component and generate an Excel that contains the selected component requirements

Export Function requirements: Select a Function and generate an Excel that contains the selected function requirements

Export High Level requirements: Select a high level requirement and generate an Excel that contains the selected requirement and all its children requirements

Create project revision: If selected, this will create a revision for the project, this revision can be used later for comparing different versions

Export Obsolete requirements: if selected, all requirements will be exported, even if the requirement is marked a obsolete (according to the attribute: "status")

Export attached files: If selected, the attached files will be exported (the attribute "attachement"). They will be represented by a hyperlink in Excel that points to the file on your computer (this requires that you select a folder to save the Excel export into)

Save Excel file: If selected, you have to select a folder where you wish to save the exported Excel file. If not, the Excel file is opened but not saved, you can save it later from the MS Excel interface

When you finish setting the option, click "run script" to export the file.

Depending on the size of your project (number of objects...) it will take more or less time. But even for bigger projects, a few minutes should be enough. Once the generation is done, the Excel file will be opened on your computer.
