The Attribute Properties window can be accessed by right-clicking on the attribute in Rules and by selecting Properties. The attribute properties window is also displayed when creating a new type attribute with Add Attribute.

The attribute properties window permits to

  1. Define the type of the attribute (boolean text, number, etc.).
  2. Control the graphical display of the attribute instances in the Internal Block Diagram.

The upper part of the properties window contains the following items:

  • Name text field: the name of the type attribute (defined when the attribute is created). Non modifiable (it is modifiable in the General tab).
  • Keys text field: key words for the attribute (useful in scripts when the type attribute name is unknown).
  • Type combo-box: the type of the attribute (defined when the attribute is created). Non modifiable.
  • Read only check-box: whether the type attribute value can be modified in the GUI. (If the check-box is checked, the attribute is read-only)
  • Unique check-box: whether the type attribute value should be unique in the project (available only for Text attributes - String(50) and String(255) )
  • Display in Diagrams:
    • name check-box: whether the type attribute name is displayed in the Internal Block Diagram. (If the check-box is checked, the name is visible.)
    • icon check-box: whether the type attribute icon is displayed in the Internal Block Diagram. (If the check-box is checked, the icon is visible.)
    • value check-box: whether the type attribute value is displayed in the Internal Block Diagram. (If the check-box is checked, the value is visible.)
  • Default value check-box: defines whether the type attribute has a predefined default value that is applied to all its instances. (If the check-box is checked, there is a default value.)
  • Object Modifiable check-box: defines whether the default value can be modified. (If the check-box is checked, modifications are permitted.)
  • If the Default value is checked, there is also an active text field or a drop-down list that permits you to choose the default value. The manner in which the default value is defined, depends on the attribute type (for more information see Available Attribute Types).

The lower part of the attribute properties window contains two or four tabs which are presented below.
