The Filter Properties window also permits to substitute the displayed object name by an attribute value. This can be done by choosing a type attribute from the drop-down list in the Displayed attribute section under Types.

However, not all attribute types can be used in this manner; for instance, it is not possible to display boolean attributes, applications, or files. On the other hand, the following attributes can be displayed in this manner:

  • Enumerator
  • Number
  • Program
  • Pointer
  • Date
  • Object as attribute
  • Hyperlink
  • Author
  • Text

When we substitute the displayed object name by an attribute value; it is often useless to have GUI to fill object name at creation

To avoid this GUI, relative attribute definition must have a default value
