Introduction

This page will guide you through the upgrade of your arKItect SEA projects from SEA v-5.8.1 to SEA v-6.0.

You need an "arKItect Designer" license to do these updates.

Prepare your project

The first thing to do is to create a copy of the project you want to update (you can also create a revision).

We highly recommend that you rename the copied project to include the new SEA version number.

The update will then be launched on the new copy. The old copy and/or revision will be kept as archived data.

Copy files into your computer cache folder

  • Click here to download the files (this is a zip package)
=> The update package is currently unavailable, please contact arKItect support to get it.
  • Unzip the file in your PC's arKItect cache folder
  • You can navigate to the cache folder by typing %appdata% in your windows directory explorer, then go to arKItect/cache

Copy files into your arKItect root folder

  • Click here to download the files (this is a zip package)
=> The update package is currently unavailable, please contact arKItect support to get it.
  • Unzip the files at the root folder of your arKItect installation

Launch update

  • Double-click on the file "Step3_CorrectProblemsAndImport.bat" (at the root of arKItect)
  • A command line will open. It will ask you for the:
    • Workspace
    • Architecture (Project name)
  • Consequently, you will be asked to enter your arKItect login and password
  • A log file opens in notepad. Take a quick look at it, and make sure it doesn't contain errors, otherwise, save it and send it to arkitect-support@k-inside.com

Troubleshooting

How to investigate and fix this issue

The update procedure stores the tests data in an Excel file. The file can be found in the same cache folder (%appdata%/arkitect/cache). File name is "vp.xlsx".

In the sheet "Test", you can find the full list of tests and their link to requirements. Tests concerned with this issues are the ones where column "requirement" is empty.

If you need to import these tests into your project, you have to fill the requirement column with an already existing requirement in your arKItect SEA project.

Once you update the Excel file, open your arKItect project, and use a ModelGateway import (Tools -> Scripts -> ModelGateway ->  Import Excel ModelGateway).

When prompted for an "rmgw" file, select the "new vp.rmgw" file from the cache folder; then select the Excel file that you edited.
